A rare sterling silver (NOT silver plated) model of Real Madrid soccer football stadium – The Santiago Bernabeu, Spain, 1980's. The artisan handmade model is set on a dark red wood base. The Santiago Bernabeu is a football stadium in Madrid, Spain. It is the home of one of the most famous football clubs in the world – Real Madrid. Real Madrid officially adapted the present name, Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on January 4th, 1955 in honor of the club president Santiago Bernabeu. The Bernabeu is one of the world's most famous football venues. It has hosted the European Cup Final on 3 separate occasions (1957, 69 & 1980) and it is scheduled to host the 2010 finals. The finals for the 1964 European Nations Cup and the 1982 World Cup have also been held at the Bernabeu. This model was made before a new cover for the Padre Damian side was put in place.
