olympicman10 Store Large Olympic Sports Pin Collection from the 1980 Summer Olympic Games held in Moscow, USSR. Please see the scan for the actual collection listed. There are 40 pins.for differnt sports in various styles Most have bent wire pin fasteners, but there are a few with straight pin pin-backs. I only see one duplicate in the collection. All of these are metal. No plastic pins. Most have the production limit etched on the backs. There are a few pretty rare ones. I'm selling many Olympic pins and a few sets and collections to make room for new 2010 Vancouver pins soon to be received. Please email for a larger format scan. Aleksandr Dityatin earned medals in every men's gymnastics event to become the only athlete ever to win eight medals in one Olympics. Super-heavyweight Teófilo Stevenson became the first boxer to win the same division three times. Gerd Wessig became the first male high jumper to break the world record at the Olympics and swimmer Vladimir Salnikov broke the 15-minute barrier for the 1,500m. In adramatic confrontation, runners Steve Ovett and Sebastian Coe split the 800 and 1,500m. 1980 Mascot-The Moscow Olympic bear "Misha" was developed by the renowned illustrator of children's books Victor Chizikov.
