These jerseys were used in spring training as a last minute replacement as noted:  According to a Sports Collector Digest article dated September 20, 1996, Chuck Tanner, having been manager of the White Sox at that time, was interviewed about the jerseys and is quoted as saying: "We used those jerseys in spring training as we were getting ready to break out the red pinstripes for the regular season. Roland Hemond and I didn't want to use the pinstripes in spring training, so Russell hurried up and made those jersey for us, We had switched colors that year and were doing away with the blue. The reason they were heavier than  regular mesh jerseys is because they were cheaper, and we only needed them to last a few weeks. We weren't real concerned with what they looked like."     This jersey was obtained in the mid 90's as part of a bulk team purchase from a national auction house. Please email us with any questions.
