All Along, (born 1979), is a champion thoroughbred filly race horse. Bred in the United States, and owned by Daniel Wildenstein (1917-2001), the renowned French art dealer and highly successful horseman, All Along was shipped to France to be trained by Patrick-Louis Biancone. As a two-year-old, the filly raced only one time and won. The following year would see her racing on turf courses in France, England, and in Japan, winning numerous prestigious races. However, it was as a four year old that All Along became a world champion and the first ever thoroughbred based in a foreign land to win the United States Eclipse Award as 1983's Horse of the Year. The horse began 1983 by winning France's most famous race, the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. She was immediately shipped to Toronto, Canada and won the Rothmans International at Woodbine Racetrack. Two weeks later she won the Breeder's Cup Turf Classic then won the Washington, D.C., International at Laurel, Maryland. Four consecutive wins against the best horses in the world, all occurred within the remarkably short time of just 41 days. She was the first horse to win the three prestigious North American races in a row, netting a million dollar bonus for her owners and ultimately Horse of the Year honors in both France and the United States. In 1984, she competed in only four races before retiring as a broodmare to the Three Chimneys Farm in Kentucky. All Along was inducted in the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in 1990. Thoroughbred Racing Associations Bronzes  In the late 1970s, the TRA (Thoroughbred Racing Associations) bestowed upon Champions Gallery a license to create and market equine related artwork through their TRAC (Thoroughbred Racing Associations Communications) branch.  The purpose of this endeavor was to give tribute to the great horses of the times through the arts.  Champions Gallery had already created a group of coins to honor the Great Champions of the Turf, which were endorsed by the TRA.  These coins were of Man o” War, Secretariat, Citation, Forego, Kelso and Ruffian.  They were cast in Gold, Silver and Bronze and the numismatist for the project was Bev Lopez. Mr. Lopez also created a very limited edition, with a couple of artist’s proofs, of Large Painted Bronzes of Secretariat and Forego, a very few of which were done with a traditional patina finish. Champions Gallery was also authorizing and creating limited editions of artwork in the form of lithographs and created a Race of the Year Serigraph of Affrimed beating Spectacular Bid in the 1979 Jockey Club Gold Cup.  In addition, Champions Gallery was marketing photographs, painting, and prints of horses and other memorabilia and collectibles to the racing public.  They also represented the work of many equine photographers, sculptors and painters.   The Horse of the Year Bronze Edition began with Affirmed (standing position) cast in 1979, Marilyn Newmark, artist; Affirmed (in action) cast in 1980, Marilyn Newmark, artist; Spectacular Bid (walking) cast in 1981, June Harrah, artist; John Henry (standing) cast in 1982, Marcel Jovine, artist; Conquistador Cielo (in action) cast in 1983 Marcel Jovine, artist; and All Along (in action) cast in 1983 Cindy Wolfe, artist.  Models of each bronze had to be approved by the owners of the Horse of the Year to insure that an authentic image of their champion was being produced. In the further interest of racing preservation, and as the Official License of TRAC, Champions Gallery produced as series of 36 video tapes that was the first sport magazine on video tape registered with the Library of Congress.  These tapes included the 30 top races run in North America each month and a variety of interviews done as Online with Bob Fox and historic races of past great racehorses. This magazine later led to the formation of the ESPN television show Racing Across America of which Bob Fox was CO-host and CO-producer.  In the age of the Internet, one of the original partners of Champions Gallery, Robert S. Fox, has continued the tradition of Champions Gallery in conjunction with his brother Peter Fox. When she was eight, her father, Dr. Earl Gilmore, gave her an American Saddlebred on the understanding that she was entirely responsible for its welfare. By 1964, when she entered William Woods College in Fulton, Missouri, she had become an accomplished rider, and provided riding instruction for other students. She graduated in 1968 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history. Wolf's interest in sculpture through the medium in clay modeling was apparently perfectly natural to her, but her career as an artist was delayed because her success in the show arena had reached international standards. Having achieved the highest accolades in the show ring, Wolf turned her attention to her sculpture. Apprenticing at the Colorado foundry which produced her work, she rapidly became experienced in all phases of fine art shell bronze production. After six years, she began a new association with artist Chuck Quigley, of the Artists Services Network in Boulder, Colorado. Quigley, who shared Wolf's adherence to perfectionism, was instrumental in the development of the bronze studio at her home in Kentucky. Today, Wolf in known for expressive portrayals of horses which maintain a fine balance between traditional and contemporary interpretation. She also is famous hr her unique, innovative patinas - some almost mirror like - achieved through metal polishing and a variety of finishes. Often she leaves the natural color of the metal visible through the patina, producing an almost translucent color. Another Wolf trademark is her grasp of weight distribution and stress; many of her equine sculptures feature their subject in motion, resting on just one leg. Her total mastery of her craft is illustrated in the fact that of the 14 primary stages necessary to create a bronze sculpture, Wolf completes all but three herself. Wolf's sculpture is collected worldwide including patrons: Arthur Appleton, Robert Brenna, Nelson Bunker Hunt, Eugene Klein, Robert Levy, S. Ru bin, B. Schwartz and A. Wildenstein to mention only a few. 1983 Eclipse Award Champions 2YO Male - Devil's Bag2YO Female - Althea3YO Male - Slew o' Gold3YO Female - Heartlight No OneHandicap Male - Bates MotelHandicap Female - Ambassador of LuckGrass Male - John HenryGrass Female - All AlongSprinter - Chinook PassHorse of Year - All Along Jockey - Angel Cordero Jr.Apprentice Jockey - Declan MurphyTrainer - Woody StephensOwner - John FranksBreeder - Edward P.
